Guardian Angel is a 1994 American action thriller from PM Entertainment, directed by Richard W. Munchkin and starring Cynthia Rothrock. It is often singled out as one of the stronger films from her American video years.
Daniel McVicar, Lydie Denier and Marshall R. Teague co-star. It has also been released as Beyond Justice.
Cynthia McKay was a cop until a dangerous woman named Nina killed the man she loved. Now working as a bodyguard, McKay takes a job protecting a wealthy playboy, and discovers that the threat to her client is Nina herself. The usual roles are flipped, with a woman protecting a man from another woman, and the personal stakes give the fights extra bite.
Is it the same film as Beyond Justice? Yes. Beyond Justice is an alternate release title.
Is it suitable for younger viewers? The BBFC rated a 2000 UK release 18.
For another Richard W. Munchkin film, try Fists of Iron (1995) DVD. For more Rothrock, see Martial Law 2: Undercover (1991) DVD.
