TC 2000 is a 1993 science fiction action film written and directed by T.J. Scott and produced by Jalal Merhi for Film One. Billy Blanks, Bolo Yeung and Merhi star, with Bobbie Phillips and Matthias Hues.
It is a low-budget dystopia built around martial arts set pieces.
In 2020, environmental collapse has split society in two. The wealthy live in a protected underground city, and the poor fight to survive in gangs on the surface. Jason Storm, an underground security officer, uncovers a plan to wipe out the people living above, and he has to escape to the surface and team up with Sumai, a respected martial arts master, to stop it.
Is it related to Talons of the Eagle? It comes from the same producer, Jalal Merhi, and reunites Blanks and Merhi, but the story is separate.
Is it suitable for younger viewers? The BBFC rated a 2003 UK release 18 for strong violence and language.
For more Blanks and Merhi, try Talons of the Eagle (1992) DVD. For more Bolo Yeung, see Shootfighter: Fight to the Death (1993) DVD.
