A young martial artist battles bullies and self-doubt before facing a dangerous fighter working for a criminal organization. This longer cut is a favorite with fans of Kurt McKinney's underdog and Jean-Claude Van Damme's villain, and its Seattle setting gives the training montages a classic 1980s feel.

No Retreat, No Surrender is the 1986 martial arts film that marked Corey Yuen's English-language directing debut, made by Hong Kong's Seasonal Film Corporation and released in the US by New World Pictures. Keith W. Strandberg wrote it from a story by Yuen and producer Ng See-yuen, and Mang Hoi choreographed the fights.
Kurt McKinney stars, and Jean-Claude Van Damme, in one of his earliest film roles, plays the Russian fighter Ivan. This listing is the International Version.
Jason Stillwell's family moves to Seattle after his father is hurt standing up to gangsters trying to take over martial arts schools. His father now rejects fighting, so Jason, a devoted Bruce Lee fan, trains on his own.
