Six Directions Boxing is a kung fu film directed by Hsu Tien-yung that opened in Hong Kong in January 1980. David Chiang, one of Shaw Brothers' biggest stars, leads, with Simon Yuen Siu-tien and Paul Chun.
It is also known as The Six Directions of Boxing.
Captain Ai is a small-town police officer ordered to bring in a gang of gunrunners and find their hidden stockpile of weapons. The case quickly gets out of hand, so he turns to his girlfriend's father, who happens to be a retired kung fu master. Together they take on both the criminals and the corrupt officials protecting them. The mix of police story and kung fu gives it a slightly different flavor from the period films of the time.
Who plays the kung fu master? Simon Yuen Siu-tien, famous for playing the old master in Drunken Master.
Who directed it? Hsu Tien-yung.
