A fighter drawn into a political struggle
Gao Tian earns his living by fighting. When he rescues a revolutionary, the encounter pulls him into a conflict far beyond the ring. An assassin's pursuit and the death of his father turn that involvement into a personal fight.
First in the World combines a period martial-arts story with political danger. The matching Chinese film title is 拳天下之拳锋. Its cast includes Meng Fei, Jiang Tong, Gao Shan and Wang Zilin.
What starts the conflict? Gao Tian helps a revolutionary and becomes a target himself.
Is this a historical documentary? It is a dramatic martial-arts story. The plot should not be read as a verified account of actual events.
For another modern Chinese martial-arts film, try Rising Shaolin: The Protector (2021) DVD.
For another period martial-arts story, see Master of the Shadowless Kick: Wong Kei-Ying (2016) DVD.
