Fast Getaway is a 1991 American action comedy from CineTel Films, directed by Spiro Razatos and written by James Dixon. It is a lighthearted heist caper with an unusual cast: teen star Corey Haim, martial arts star Cynthia Rothrock and Leo Rossi.
It opened in the US in April 1991.
Sixteen-year-old Nelson Potter is part of a bank-robbing crew with his father, Sam. Nelson scouts targets and even plays the hostage. When the gang falls out, their former partners, including the formidable Lilly, played by Rothrock, turn against father and son. The robberies are played for laughs, but Rothrock brings real kicks to the fights. It is a light, fast-moving caper.
Is it a family film? It is a comedy, but the BBFC rated it 15 for its 1991 UK release, so it is aimed at older viewers.
Who directed Fast Getaway? Spiro Razatos.
