Lucky Stars Go Places is a 1986 Hong Kong action comedy directed by Eric Tsang and produced by Sammo Hung. It is the fourth Lucky Stars film, and it brings together the Lucky Stars gang with Karl Maka and Sylvia Chang from the Aces Go Places series.
Andy Lau, Alan Tam and Kent Cheng join the team. Barry Wong wrote the screenplay, and it opened in Hong Kong in June 1986.
The police need help catching an arms dealer, and they turn to a new crew of Lucky Stars to do it. The recruits are better at causing chaos than following orders, and the undercover operation turns into a string of gags, mix-ups and fights.
Do I need to see the earlier Lucky Stars films? No. Each film is a standalone caper.
Is it also called The Luckiest Stars? Yes. That is an alternate English title.
