Hidden Strike is a 2023 action adventure directed by Scott Waugh, who also edited it, from a script by Arash Amel. It pairs Jackie Chan with John Cena, with Pilou Asbæk as the villain.
It reached US viewers through Netflix in July 2023. In some markets it is called Project X-Traction.
Two former special forces soldiers, working for very different employers, end up having to escort a group of civilians out of a besieged oil refinery and down a highway known for ambushes. They start out trading punches and insults and end up depending on each other. Expect big vehicle stunts, gunfights and the kind of comic sparring Chan has done with co-stars for decades.
Is it the same film as Project X-Traction? Yes. That is the title used in some markets.
Is it suitable for younger viewers? The BBFC rated it 15 for violence and sex references.
For classic Jackie Chan, try Wheels on Meals (1984) DVD. For another streaming-era action comedy, see The Last Mercenary (2021) DVD.
